Environmental Protection
CEDO supports environmental protection by coordinating responsible resource recovery, landfill diversion, recycling access, and organized material management strategies across Puerto Rico. The objective is to reduce uncontrolled disposal, strengthen recovery pathways, and support cleaner communities through collaboration with municipalities, agencies, recyclers, nonprofits, private-sector partners, and community groups.

CEDO promotes sustainable development by helping connect environmental goals with practical community, infrastructure, and economic outcomes. This includes supporting renewable energy awareness, responsible growth, resource recovery planning, environmental education, local capacity building, and projects that allow communities to advance without increasing long-term environmental burden.

CEDO strengthens resiliency by helping communities and partners prepare for changing environmental conditions, storm-related material surges, infrastructure pressures, and recovery challenges.
